If you wish to become a member of High Sierra Writers, we offer three ways to join. Dues a for 2024 are $2.00 for the whole year, no matter when you join.
You can pay your dues at a meeting (please bring exact amount $2),
by check made payable to High Sierra Writers and handed to Rene (Treasurer) at the meeting or mailed to HSW at HSW Membership, PO Box 12241 Reno, NV 89510
Or you can pay via PayPal at paypal.me/Twobucks2024 – Enter the dollar amount you are paying. If you pay for more than one membership, please let us know the names for both and a good email address so we can send you our monthly newsletter.
What Do I Get with My Membership?
You get several benefits from being a member. One of the best ones is the opportunity to become part of a critique group. We have several groups running and are always forming more as needed. A critique group can help you find problems in your story or your writing and help to polish it before sending it to an agent.
When we have special guest speakers that we need to pay a fee, members get a lower fee or free while non-members need to pay to attend. This applies to workshops that run three to four hours.
You also become a part of a supportive group of creatives and will learn more about the publishing industry as well as learning how to improve your writing, plotting, and editing.
How Do I Join?
You can join at any High Sierra Writers meeting. These are scheduled monthly and usually occur on the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Raleys ONE Market on Wedge Parkway at Mt. Rose in their community room. Most times our treasurer is available to accept your money, but you can give it to anyone on the Board of Directions – Matt, Troy, or Rene. You may pay by check, cash or the PayPal link above. Be sure to give Rene your email address so that we can add you to the newsletter mailing list and confirm your membership.
PayPal, allows you to use your credit card even if you don’t have a PayPal account.
You can also mail your check to the organization’s mail box. Again, please include your email address. Send it to: HSW Membership, PO Box 12241 Reno, NV 89510
Make checks out to High Sierra Writers and write “membership” in the note area of your check.
